Green Bean Bake
Green Bean Bake, Green Bean Casserole, or “Squeaky Beans” (as one of my friend’s family calls it) has always been a staple on our holiday table since I was a kid. There’s nothing special about this recipe, except that Green Bean Bake is special in itself. It’s the simplest side dish to make for the holidays besides opening that can of cranberry sauce, and it’s always a hit. I’m not sure you really need a recipe for this, but I’m going to give you mine anyway. If for some reason you’ve never had this, it’s delicious. We always say, “It’s so easy to make, I don’t know why we don’t make it more often”. The only thing to note here is the use of French Cut green beans.

Ingredients
- 2 Cans (10.5 oz.) Cream of Mushroom Soup
- 4 Cans (14.25 oz.) French Cut Green Beans, drained
- 10-12 oz. French-Fried Onions
Method
Preheat oven to 350ºF (177ºC). In a 13 x 9 glass casserole dish, empty drained French cut green beans, cream of mushroom soup, and 3/4 of the crispy French-fried onions. Mix together thoroughly.
Spread mixture leveling out the top to an even thickness. Top with remaining French-Fried onions just before baking.
Bake for 30-45 minutes, or until the mixture is heated well.
Rest 10-20 minutes before serving, as it’s usually nuclear hot and we don’t want to burn any mouths. That’s it! Enjoy!
You can do what you want, but I highly recommend using French cut green beans – it’s a texture thing!
